Microdermabrasion
Content
Description
Microdermabrasion is a modern non-invasive procedure that mechanically removes the surface layer of the skin.
Using a fine abrasive, minor bumps, fine lines, wrinkles, minor scars, pigment spots and acne scars are smoothed away.
After the treatment, the skin is softer, looks younger and the pores are reduced.
Facts
- No anesthesia
- Outpatient procedure
- Procedure takes about 60 minutes
- Recovery in a day
The skin is first cleaned and defatted, then the superficial skin is exfoliated with a fine abrasive (very fine heads are used - diamond heads or a bristle tip, most recently water microdermabrasion) and dead cells are removed by vacuum. After the procedure, the skin is treated with a regenerating moisturizing cream, stimulating serum, or vitamin ampoules - absorption through the skin is more effective after dermabrasion.
After the procedure, the skin remains slightly red. Sauna, solarium and direct sunlight should be avoided for at least 3 weeks.
The skin needs about 30 days to regenerate. In order to achieve the most optimal effect, it is advisable to repeat the procedure in several sessions (four to eight sessions roughly 3 weeks apart).
The procedure is not suitable for patients with keloid scars, atopic eczema, dermatitis and acute skin inflammations (for example herpes disease), acne in the active stage on treatment with isotretinoin.
